Journalism Department
Four years undergraduate degree and a bachelor’s degree in media – Journalism equivalent to the degree of Bachelor of Media awarded by Egyptian universities.

The department aims to prepare highly qualified media and journalists.

The media and communication revolution is accompanied by the introduction of a new experience in the systems of journalism qualification and its programs linked the press practice to the scientific theory in the media and communication and provide the basics and innovations in the arts of modern journalism so that the participants in the department have the ability to work in the media and the media of the twenty-first century The media and communication revolutions are influenced by both quality and quantity.

The department is concerned with the inclusion of educational programs and media production activities (newspapers, bulletins, magazines) and digital electronic production (ad designs, electronic newspapers, multimedia products).

– Mechanical imaging and editing laboratory

It is a laboratory that allows students from different departments of the Academy to study the theory of mechanical photography and montage, which is a major topic in the printing technology courses taught at the Academy and provides students with access to the latest printing systems and techniques.

Language Lab:
The language lab aims to develop the skills of learning foreign languages for students of different departments in the academy, and train the students of the press department on the arts of speaking and speaking in Arabic and English in addition to the field of translation skills.

The language lab at the Academy includes the following components:
The main control unit for the lecturers.
Thirty student cabins containing 30 controllers are registered individually or in a group. And providing training modules.
A VCR and a monitor are used for delivering the lecture and presenting the training modules with video and audio.

Press Production Laboratory:
Is the laboratory that allows the students of the press department to train in the publishing programs and the design of the journalist to prepare the graduate to design the newspaper and take it out on the computer in full and as is done in major press institutions in Egypt and the Arab world. The laboratory is equipped with 25 devices Apple Macintosh (IMAC) Ali Software: Adobe Photoshop, Press Publisher, Freehand and other publishing software and graphic design.

Internet lab and electronic press:
The electronic journalism environment is a major sector of the media publishing sector in general and publishing through the Internet in particular. The Academy is keen to train its students in the press department on the basics and rules of editing and designing the websites of electronic newspapers through this laboratory which includes twenty one devices connected to the Internet, On the languages of web page design programs by HTML, MS – Front Page and Dream waver. The lab also assists in the graduation of students of the journalism department in the form of an electronic journal.

Press Lab: lab
In the framework of the Academy’s keenness to provide an integrated educational model that combines theoretical study and scientific application in the preparation of future journalists, Akhbar Elyom Newspaper (Akhbar 6 October) has issued a training program for the students of the Press Department on various stages of the press. Senior journalists at Akhbar Elyom through the City Newsroom (Press Lab).
It is an integrated editing center used in the production, editing and design of the newspaper (Akhbar 6 October), which is issued by the Press Section and equipped for printing.
The facility includes various communication equipment necessary for the performance of the press work and includes an integrated desktop publishing unit allows the preparation of the newspaper from the preparation and writing of topics and writing and design and preparation for printing, and students are allowed to participate in all these stages under the supervision of a group of senior professional journalists at Akhbar Elyom.

Summer training:
The Department organizes annual summer training for students in all academic years. The training is done on two levels:
Internal level:
Theoretical training: through which theoretical lectures are held to transfer experiences and build a bridge of communication between students and media professionals in addition to lectures in Arabic and English.
• Practical training: through Akhbar 6 October.
External Level:
Students are trained in the various press releases, providing job opportunities for outstanding students.
Graduation projects:
The students of the Press Department prepare the graduation project in the final year. It is a newspaper, magazine or website with a group of students. It is supervised by media professionals and experts in the field of journalism. The project is discussed at the end of the academic year through arbitration committees composed of Professors and media experts.

Business Administration Department (English)

The philosophy and objectives of the department:
Duration: Four years undergraduate degree.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in English – Accounting in English or Business Administration in English. Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree awarded by Egyptian universities.

The department aims to build graduates with accounting and administrative skills and high ability to master the English language and the labor market. The department also provides programs that allow students to study all fields of accounting and administrative sciences with the latest scientific and operational methods. The department is characterized by providing qualified faculty members with expertise in their fields The department also seeks to provide job opportunities for outstanding students in companies, banks, factories, etc.

The department is divided into English accounting department and English business administration department

The department has many computer labs, through which students are trained in the latest technological methods in accounting and business management.

Graduation Projects:
The students prepare the graduation project through the provision of scientific research supervised by specialists in the field of accounting and business management.
– Scientific activity of the department: –
The seminar aims at providing scientific seminars for the purpose of providing the student with information, educating him and expanding his horizons, including a seminar for the head of the department of administration at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, and a cultural symposium for the editor of Al-Obeid newspaper and a member of the People’s Assembly to discuss contemporary issues on the Arab and international arenas.
The department provides training opportunities for students in the fields related to different aspects of the study to ensure the integration of the educational process, as well as to strengthen the relationship between the department and the labor market.

The department provides graduates with full knowledge in the fields of accounting and management and is entrusted with the administrative skills required to raise the level of all institutions and institutions in the community.
Mechanical Engineering Department

Philosophy and objectives of the department:
The Department aims to prepare a graduate capable of dealing with the processes and industries that depend on modern technology in its various branches. Therefore, the courses of the Mechanical Engineering and Printing Technology Department are characterized by their follow-up to modern science and its development, as well as the interest in scientific and intensive training both in workshops and laboratories.
The department also links the industry to university education through direct contact with the industry through seminars, meetings, visits and joint supervision of the graduation projects that the students are preparing in the last academic year. The department is divided into the Department of Industrial Engineering and the Department of Mechatronics.

Laboratories and their potential:
The Department of Mechanics includes several distinguished laboratories that help the student to absorb the scientific material:
 Hydraulic and pneumatic plant
 Fluid and Refractories Laboratory.
 Computer numerical control machine lab.
 Workshops including lathes, fries, mufflers, drills, presses, metal workshop, welding workshop, plumbing workshop, measurements workshop, carpentry workshop.

Summer training:
The students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Printing Technology will perform summer training for three to four weeks and will be assigned a part of the work grades of the year. This training will be carried out after the completion of the written examinations under the supervision of the faculty members of the Academy.

Graduation Projects:
Graduation projects for the bachelor’s degree are carried out in the form of applied projects so that the groups design and implement the projects in engineering and industrial fields.
Participating in distinguished projects in exhibitions and competitions.

The relationship of the mechanical engineering department with the society and industry:
The relationship between the department and the industry grows directly through a group of scientific centers that provide services and inquiries to the concerned bodies in the institutions of Egyptian society.
These centers aim to raise the level of workers in the field of engineering and printing, which achieves the objectives of these facilities and units and serves their objectives.

Scientific activity of the department:
 The department holds annually at least five scientific seminars in the various engineering fields and a large number of industry participants participate in these seminars.
 The department also participates through distinguished graduation projects in industrial exhibitions such as Technoprint exhibition to present the students of the department in the design and implementation of machines serving the industrialists.
Computer Science and Information Technology

The philosophy and objectives of the department:
The department aims at graduating specialists in computer science, information technology, practical and practical skills of the computer and to meet the needs of the labor market.
The department is specialized in training graduates on the latest programs and tools for building systems. The department also seeks to coordinate with companies to train students in practical training.

Laboratories and their potential:
I have section 5 computer labs, which contain 89 computers to be practical exercises for different subjects.

Graduation Projects:
The students prepare the graduation project in the final year, which is the establishment of websites on the Internet, and the students of the fourth year a number of at least eight projects graduated from them, for example but not limited to:
• Akhbar El Yom Academy website.
• Online banking system.
• E-Commerce Site.
• Site to identify people through Face Recognition.
• Image Steganography location.
• E-Learning Project.
• Online Bookshop.
• A site for the University Registration System.

The scientific activity:
The department held a scientific discussion of the graduation projects and attended by deans, agents and professors from the faculties of computers and information in the Egyptian universities and faculty members in the department, which the students will prepare in order to guide them and shed light on the strengths and weaknesses of the projects.

Summer training:
Students are trained in the first and second classes for two weeks during the summer.
• The training program includes teaching the skills of writing programs using modern languages while training students on how to build sites and systems.
• For the first group, they are taught HTML and web design.
• The second group is trained in Visual C – .net.

The relationship between the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology in the community:
 The department aims at graduating specialists in information technology that meet the needs of the integrated and sustainable development of the society in various sectors.
o In addition to providing advice and scientific and technical assistance to the bodies and agencies that use computer technology.
o In addition to deepening awareness of the use of computer and information technologies in the sectors and institutions of the state and raise the efficiency of use through specialized training courses.
 The Department also undertakes scientific agreements with the corresponding bodies and institutions.
Electrical Engineering Department

The philosophy and objectives of the department:
The department aims to prepare distinguished engineers in the fields of communications, electronics, computers and control systems.
The department also seeks to prepare engineers on the highest level of technical and highly skilled and related to the industries in the fields of electronic industries, fiber optic and control systems and modern communications systems and branch division to the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering.

The department is divided into the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering and the Department of Communications and Electronics Engineering.

Laboratories and their potentials:
The department contains a large number of labs that serve all the applied fields of the department namely physics labs, electrical circuit laboratories, electronics and digital circuits as well as nanotechnology control laboratories, microprocessor and computers as well as micro wave modulators, antennas and communication systems.
In addition to the laboratories addressed in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Summer training:
The department organizes compulsory internal summer training for all students for two weeks after the end of the exams of the last year. This training is practical for the study during the academic year.
Such as the implementation of circuits ranging from simple circuits to control circuits. The department also provides external training opportunities in the 6th of October City factories and companies for students who wish to do so.

Graduation Projects:
Students prepare graduation projects in the final year in the most important areas in the scientific field that may be required by the student in his career such as antennas, microwave circuits, control circuits, fixed and mobile communication systems, optical communication systems and computer fields.

Scientific activity of the department:
The department prepares scientific conferences and seminars with third parties such as major telecommunications companies and measurements.
The department also conducts many scientific activities for students such as specialized courses in DSP, VHDL, MATLAB, which helps to prepare engineers at the highest level.
The relationship of the department to society and industry:
The department organizes training courses in various fields in order to raise the level of factory engineers in the fields of tests, electrical measurements, programming and the use of design packages in various fields.
